Lost at Sea
there is noone left.
when there is very little worthwhile in your life, you cling desperately onto the few things that seem stable, hoping that they will be able to keep you afloat. any little piece of driftwood seems to be a beacon of strength and hope. you vest all of your faith into these symbols, praying that they will help you to reach the shore as you float in the vast sea of emptiness.
and then, when the tiny piece that has supported you through the stormiest weather begins to disintegrate before your very eyes, you are lost. you were counting on having it with you to see you through the entire journey, through the thick and the thin, but then you realize that it's rotting. it SEEMS perfectly fine, but it is decayed and will eventually fail you: just like everything else.
i cant believe you turned out to be so hollow. all the promises, all the encouragement: was it all empty? i cant believe you didnt even tell me. that's probably what hurts the most.
